July 15th 2008- Station 20 held training exercises on Sentara's Nightingale Air Ambulance at 19:00 at the station. Chris Gannon a representative from Nightingale arrived and gave a classroom presentation before Nightingale landed at the station shortly after. He went over safety issues when using Nightingale on the scene of an incident. The class was very informative and we had a great turnout. Single Vehicle 10-50Posted: July 15th, 2008 6:58 PM June 21st 2008- At 15:28 Station 20 was toned out for a single vehicle 10-50 on Great Mill Hwy. near the Suffolk line. Engine 20 arrived on scene and found a pickup with heavy damage. Franklin Medic 4 arrived and handled patient care. E20 controlled hazards and cleared at 16:37.

June 11th 2008- At 15:33 Station 20 was tapped out for 10-50, with unknown injuries near 31344 Walters Highway. Engine 20, EMS 20, and Franklin Medic 4 responded. Arriving on scene units found a Ford Explorer with heavy passenger side and front end damage. E20 checked for hazards and found none. The driver reportedly had fallen asleep, woke up, over-corrected and hit two trees. The scene was turned over to the Sheriff's Department and all 20 units were clear at 15:53.

May 27th 2008- At 14:24 Station 20 was toned out for a two vehicle 10-50 with injuries, car vs. farm machinery on Carrsville Hwy. near the Franklin line. E20 (engine 20) arrived on scene to find a car with heavy rear end damage and a large self propelled farm sprayer with no apparent damage. E20's crew checked for hazards and found none. They assisted Franklin Medic 2 with patient packaging (driver of the car), and then turned the scene over to the Sheriff's Department. E20 was clear at 14:56.

Mother's Day Structure FirePosted: May 28th, 2008 7:12 PM May 11th 2008- At 12:36 Station 20 was tapped out for a working structure fire at 31300 Community House Dr., with a report of people trapped inside. 201 (Chief Carr) arrived on scene, assumed command and found a 1 ½ story brick residential structure with heavy fire showing from the A side. 201 reported everyone was out of the residence. E20 (Engine 20) was first to arrive on scene. 20’s crew pulled a 1 ¾” line and began attacking the fire from the A side.

Accident Involving School BusPosted: May 5th, 2008 8:09 PM May 5th 2008- At 16:21 the 20 House was toned out for a 10-50 with unknown injuries at 4287 Carrsville Highway, near the intersection with Holly Run Road.

Tornado Hits CarrsvillePosted: April 30th, 2008 5:47 PM April 28th 2008- Monday afternoon tornado warnings were being issued all across the area. Several Station 20 members came to the station to stand-by during the inclement weather. We watched the sky as the storm cell believed to contain a tornado, passed just to the south of Carrsville near Holland and continued into Suffolk. A few minutes later we began to hear Suffolk Fire units on the radio saying that a tornado had touched down and was causing extensive damage.

Accident Walters HighwayPosted: April 29th, 2008 11:56 AM April 20th 2008- At 17:28 the 20 house was tapped out for a single vehicle 10-50 on Walters Highway. Engine 20 responded with a full crew. E20 arrived on scene to find a single vehicle in the ditch. The crew checked for injuries and hazards, none were found. The driver had hydroplaned and lost control in the heavy rain. E20 cleared at 17:51.

 April 16th 2008 - At 16:26 Station 20 was tapped for an accident with injuries at 6201 Carrsville Hwy. Upon further investigation the accident was at the intersection of Camp Family Hwy and Union Camp Drive. E-20 assisted with patient packing, loading, and contained hazards. E-20 cleared at 18:15.
