About 6 years ago your CVFD saw a need to expand our service to you.We began providing EMS First Responder service within our run area.We currently have about twenty active medical providers certified at the EMT level or higher. These members have opted to take a minimum of 110 hours of additional training and testing to reach the minimum level. They then have to maintain that training by meeting state mandated continuing education requirements. This service costs an additional $20 to $25 thousand dollars a year to provide.I mention this because I want you to know where your money goes when we ask for your support at one of our many fund raisers. While we commit to provide the manpower for the service, we need your commitment to help fund the service.Congratulations to Trevor, John and Cody for recently attaining that certification. Also, thanks to those that made the commitment to the class, but fell a little short in attaining certification.Even without the card, your efforts will make CVFD a better provider to our community.
